Maureen Duncan is a freelance writer and photographer who specializes in travel. A seasoned solo adventurer, her areas of interest include American road trips, hiking, the ruins of ancient civilizations, and Medieval European art and architecture.

Born and raised in southern New Jersey, Maureen graduated with honors from the University of Chicago in 2000 with a degree in Cinema & Media Studies, and from Parsons School of Design in 2007 with an M.F.A. in Photography. Active as a visual artist, her work has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, among other places. When not traveling she lives in Los Angeles.
